BETS Energy is currently working with a national multi-family property developer to develop comprehensive Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies that focus on reducing the carbon footprint at each of their assets. These properties have purchased “green” energy from renewable energy sources and secured fixed rates over several years. With the assistance of BETS and a national solar developer, the properties are also currently being evaluated for the addition of rooftop and car port solar (PV) arrays, capable of generating on-site renewable energy and reducing their reliance on the local utility grid. The generation of electricity from renewable energy sources will further reduce the property’s carbon emissions footprint and improve their ESG scorecard.
The largest Hyundai dealership in NJ has turned to BETS Energy to provide Project Management and Owner’s Representation services to address the anticipated upswing in electric and hybrid vehicles manufactured by Hyundai. The Hyundai IONIQ Hybrid will join the Kona Electric in early 2022 and the dealership must be prepared to power these vehicles as they arrive from the port and be prepared for sales and servicing. BETS is managing the electric vehicle (EV) Readiness Process with representatives from Charge Point (the contractor selected by Hyundai) and their consultant to ensure that the necessary power is brought onsite to the proper locations(s) to serve the selected EV chargers (Level 2 and Level 3 Chargers). Interaction with the electrical contractor and the local utility, along with the securitization of grants that off-set the cost of the readiness program and chargers, are part of BETS service and responsibility.
BETS Energy has been engaged by one of the largest Health Care Systems in NJ to develop a comprehensive electric vehicle (EV) implementation strategy for their acute and ancillary owned and leased properties. Serving in the role of Project Manager and Owner’s Representative, BETS has evaluated numerous properties and has already overseen the installation of EV chargers in one of the properties parking garages. As property evaluations continue, a unique EV solution will be developed and implemented to serve employees, visitors and physicians. The strategy includes a plan to address current and future EV needs at each of the client’s locations, an understanding of available power and the need to upgrade electric service and the availability of local utility grants.
A national multi-unit developer (MUD) has initiated an EV Charging Strategy in 8 states with the guidance of BETS Energy (BETS) and our strategic partners. BETS is providing Project Management and Owner’s Representation services to this developer, who anticipates constructing 68 new MUD projects in 14 states over the next 36 months. Several of the initial projects have already been constructed or are amid being completed. BETS is working with each site’s Project Manager to map out an EV charging strategy to accommodate current and future EV charging needs. For those properties that are currently being planned or are in design, BETS is working with the select Design & Construction team. The developer has chosen to install Level 2 EV chargers, in addition to considering Level 3 EV chargers in sites with retail features that are in proximity to major roadways. Working in partnership with BETS, the developer recognizes that the EV charger is simply a piece of hardware that needs to be integrated into a smart, open software platform that proactively manages electric usage and provides operational data as well as load management. The result will lead to overall electric cost savings, while generating revenue.
